Program Structure
One-of-a-Kind Study Track

IIM students are admitted through school-based admission and undertake a four-year interdisciplinary curriculum. Early requirements encompass the University Common Core and fundamental language, computer science and mathematics courses to build communication skills and the mindset for logical and efficient thinking.

At the end of Year 1, students undertaking IIM and faculty advisors create a program of study that addresses individual intellectual interests and helps each undergraduate excel in the area chosen. Courses to fulfill requirements may be drawn from different departments and divisions across HKUST’s Schools. Close academic monitoring and experiential guidance further benefit IIM students and ensure quality standards are adhered to and attained. At least 120 credits are required to graduate.
